It's been almost 2 years since Pepper was born 1-5-05. She will be 2 years old in 3 days. She is from Hunter & Remmy's litter. She is my son and mine's spoiled baby. Pepper is smart, has a phenomenal nose, very loving and my cuddle bug. She has slept with me every night since we brought her home from your home. We couldn't have asked for a better family member!
I've attached some pictures for you so see how beautiful she is.
Thank you.Tanya

Deanna,
Thought you might enjoy the latest picture of Beretta's offspring. Molly is staying with us this weekend while my parents are at one of the bowl games. Molly is giving Tasman quite a workout. She keeps stealing his chews and toys. We took the picture during a quiet moment.
Happy New Year to all !,

Jim, Deanna & Family,
Hope you all had a very nice Christmas. Your call was a nice surprise. You don't see that everyday, someone who cares so much about their animals the way you do. It's nice to see that. I've attached a few pictures of Mazy. Jesse has been taking her goose hunting w/ him this past week. She likes to run out there and scare the geese away when they start flying in. Silly girl.....she just gets so excited. This is his first time goose hunting.....no luck yet. A very safe and happy holidays to you and your family. I'll try to keep up on sending you pictures.
Happy New Year!
Take care,

The annual photo - Carson just turned three yesterday and is the sweetest little man (65 lbs!!) around. We had to bob his ears as he decided one day the paint can looked like a lot of fun. Ears and paint are not a good combination, though he apparently thought so.
I watch your website - I LOVE the lemon/white line you're working on bringing back. Beautiful dogs!
Enjoy your holidays.

Hi Deanna,
It's been a while since my last note to you. I wanted to update you on how Tess is doing and send you these pictures. She is now 6 months old and is doing great... very smart and loves to play fetch with her tennis ball... she would do it all day if she could... and loves being the center of attention...what a cuddle bug. :-) We are so happy we decided to make her a part of our family.
I hope all is well with you and yours this holiday season...!!

Just thought that you would like to know that Parker is doing great; I think I have sold about 6 dogs for you may have to charge you a commission ;-) Everywhere I take him people make a big fuss over him and want to know where I got him. I am pushing your URL to a couple of folks.
Anyway, he is healthy and happy; he was 11 lbs 13 oz on his fist Vet visit. We go for long walks in the orchard every morning and he is ALMOST housebroken (Mom and Mitch are not as attentive to his needs and he has had a few accidents but none on my watch). He is a little more self-willed than my Goldens were but he is VERY much a lover and a clown like his mom. He is loath to be out of site of me and has to sleep in the bedroom with us something I never would let my Goldens do, but he is clearly a special dog.

Hi Deanna,
Jim called to check up on Marvel (aka Rosebud born 5/31/05) a couple weeks ago. I felt bad because I had composed letters to you a hundred times. I wanted to put together a big "greatest hits" collection of photos to send, and my high expectations of myself kept me from doing anything! Oh well...It was great to tell Jim how much we love our girl. Marvel is the smartest dog I have ever had the privilege to love, and she is dramatically good looking. Her body is so gorgeously proportioned , all the care you take in breeding shows. We hug and kiss her all day-she has all four of us totally smitten. She has wonderful empathy, a fine sense of humor and a beautiful heart full of affection.
Marvel is a talker, she has different voices for different needs, very funny the way she asks me to toss her toys, she has a rubber chicken that she has kept intact for the longest time and she brings it by me and makes this very cute trilling noise in her throat that is both a request and the command of the Queen. It is totally outrageous how much she also understands of what we say.Her only behavioral challenge is some over-barking; she is vigilant and pretty reactive. Our older springer boy is so quiet he fooled us into thinking the breed was that silent. We work with Marvel, and it is getting better. She gets lots of exercise and is well socialized but still seems to get frantic when she meets new dogs, not aggressive but flipped out with a desire to greet and play, which is not always what other dogs or people want to do, she is settling more all the time. We took her to puppy kindergarten and she aced the class, we work her on her obedience a lot, next we will take her to another class and then we would like to do agility with her, she is a faster than fast girl. One funny thing that shows how bright she is...we put a rope with some small bells on a door and taught her to ring the bells when she wants to go outside. She does that well, although she cracks us sometimes with a her very frequent desires to go in and out and in and out and in and out. I think she likes making us come and do what she asks. Next she learned on her own to ring the bell to tell us she was tired and wanted to go to bed ( we keep our bedroom door shut so we need to open it for her to go crawl in her open crate-the house has multiple beds but at night she wants to go to her night bed). That was amazing enough but then she decided to ring the bell when she wants her breakfast or dinner. Then she decided this bell thing was good for anything she wants us to do so she goes and gets her chicken and if I am busy and do not notice she rings the bell and then when I arrive tells me it is time for us to toss the chicken around. Tooo funny. She is heavenly on a walk now, total slack on the leash, right at my heel and so fun to explore the world with. When we go to our beach she runs and runs and runs. Our inlet on Puget Sound is a big mud flat when the tide is out, I try to go down at high tide but sometimes that is not what happens. In one of the attached images you can see her as a younger girl making a famous leap in the mud. I made that shot into a poster with the caption, "When the going gets sticky, take a leap."In summary, we are deep in love and think Bear Country turns out the best dogs on the planet. Someday we will have another dog of yours. Terry is not ready for another pup anytime soon ( I could do it again right now) but she may come around. If you ever have a b&w tri young adult you need to place please keep us in mind. (We have two liver and whites, and though coloring is not the biggest deal I would love to have a b&w next.)
The photo is from today, sorry her coat is so grimy-she had been playing at the beach and in the creek there and her favorite part is the mud. She is totally blissed out by the touch of snow we just got.
Take care,
Pat
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Here's a quick shot of the little guy and me at our family's camp in Mississippi. He had a blast!!!
Deanna,
Winston is so sweet and playful. Give him hugs and kisses and lot of attention from us.
Back to Winston, he is the best. He's still biting my ankles, which we are working on, but other than that, he's a great puppy. He knows "sit" and he knows "kennel" and is starting to learn "stay". SO smart. And everyone at the Vet adores him! I'm attaching some pictures we took last weekend. Hope you enjoy.
~Lauren
PS he says to say hi and give you all licks and love!
Winston had a great Christmas and got about 10 times the goodies I did! Everyone says he is the most gorgeous pup they have ever seen, and I agree 100%. We went for a few runs and long walks over the break, and he is such a natural. Very mischievous, but I think we both knew that from the beginning. I have to watch him carefully, because he LOVES my mom's cork collection. But no corks for Winston. Then again, yesterday when we were playing in the yard at my house, I saw he had something in his mouth. Go figure! The "pop" from the night before must not have gone that far, and Win found it. He spent New Year's Eve with his best girlfriend, Chicory (a 1-year-old black lab). They are the cutest. I'll have to keep sending pics as well.
Have a great New Year and thanks for making mine so wonderful,
hi.......thought you might enjoy these pictures. They were taken in the house in the eve so arent the best but you can still see. We LOVE this pup! He is so smart and happy. Just a great pup. Makes us smile every day! In the eve when he comes in from a long day on the ranch, he has to be tied in his spot with toys and sisters cage near by. Every once in a while she gets out to visit. He is so rough usually but is soooooooooooo gentle with her. its cute! We run him in and out to potty till bed time then hes tied to the night stand where he still wakes us to pee 1-2 times a night. This way hes only had a few accidents cuz dad tied him too long ;) Hes already fetching and we are working on bringing it back!!!! ;) Lil sister doesnt have a name yet..... ;)
in pic 21 and 23..........hes asleep. ;)
Is he not beautiful! All our kids are crazy over him. ;)

I thought I would send you some beautiful pictures of our Ollie (Remmy x Hunter, Jan 5, 2005) that my daughter took. He has grown into a great, lovable dog with a very distinct personality. His hobbies include wrestling, cuddling, hiding in his crate while we're cooking (he hates the smell), stealing butter off the counter, 'helping' with the dishes, and terrorizing our older, smaller, and very Alpha dog. We are just in love with him.
Sarah, Seattle WA
Just a little update on Ace...
He is so sweet and adjusting perfectly. He is incredibly smart and very easy to train. He is amazingly gentle with the kids, and a perfect family dog!!!
We love him!!!

Hi Deanna,
This morning the boys and I had a great quail hunt. We hunted with one other hunter and his two Goldens.
We jumped many quail, and way too many cottontail bunnies. Not sure which makes the boys more "birdy", quail or bunnies.
Early the birds would hold tight, and later in the morning we had runners going every which way. It was hilarious to see the dogs keep up with the zig zagging quail as the ran and the reluctantly flushed.
Great day for two happy Springers. The boys are sleeping under my desk as I type thi Eric, Dice and Domino (22 months old
Hi Deanna Thought I'd send a quick picture of the
boys, now 23 months old. Notice Dice and Domino each have one leg lifted, ready for me to say get em up . We pheasant hunted this week, as season ends 12/24. The dogs are doing great and have become excellent hunters. The 'dual retrieve' is still a problem but I'm working on this. I can call the boys off rabbits or flushing hens and they have done a couple of great retrieves this season. Talley this year: 19 roosters, over 50 quail, and even two geese and a couple ducks.
Hope all is well. Best wishes and Happy Holidays.

Hi Deanna!
I wanted to send you an update on "the girls".
I took Quinn and Targhee out for a walk on the river today and thought you'd enjoy some of their photos.
Quinn has the black collar and the round white blaze on her forehead. Targhee has the orange collar and the narrow "pitchfork" shaped blaze and a curl on the top of her head. We have observed that Quinn is living up to the "halo" she sports and Targhee's "pitchfork and flame" reflects her attitude! We love them both to bits. They do enjoy each other's company and are generally great company to all visitors. Their favorite game is chasing sticks on the river and fighting for them. (photo attached). They are still very much puppies, chewing on EVERYTHING they can manage to get their teeth into. They are really healthy - no visits to the vet in months. We take them to a family run kennel when we cannot take them on trips. The owner of the kennel shows dogs at the national level and wanted to show Quinn very badly. Unfortunately, she was already spayed, so she couldn't be shown in the comps he wanted to take her. He t hinks she is "perfect".
We took the girls to a huge arts event in Boise in September. They attracted A LOT of attention. Many people wanted to know where we got them. Do you have any business cards we could hand out at public events? It would make it easier than my trying to explain how to find your website. If you do have them, please forward them to my address below!
Thanks for the adorable dogs!

Hi Deanna,
We just wanted you to know that Ruger (aka Lane) is a wonderful pup. We are having so much fun with him. He has brought so much into our lives. He snuggly and has been very easy to train. All he wants to do is play and snuggle. He spent two weeks in the classroom with the kids and he loved it. He would run to the door when the bell rang to great the kids when they came in from recess. What a wonderful pup.
Here are some pics.

Hi Deanna,
We wanted to send you a couple of photos of Devon. She is doing great,
we love her! She was spayed the second week home and she didn't miss a
beat!
Our neighbor who is Devon's Vet checked on her almost every night for a
week and couldn't believe how fast she was up to full speed. Now he
comes by because he really enjoys seeing her.
She likes to get into trouble with the kids, she sneaks into their
rooms and steals their stuffed animals and runs with them. It's funny
to watch.
Hope you enjoy the photos, the first one is right after we picked her
up and the second is from last weekend.
Thanks again for the wonderful and now very spoiled puppy,
Brian and Shelly.
Hi Deanna:
What a good week for springers named "diamond." Best in show (Diamond Jim at
Westminster) and First Birthday party (our very own Jack!). He is well,
happy and loving life.
As you can see, we've had a bit of snow here in Vermont. One of his new
tricks is to launch full speed into the snow, landing over his head. He "swims" to get out. Very funny!
Just wanted to give you an update -- he's a great boy with not a mean bone
in his body.
Best,

Hi Deanna, Mary here, I just wanted to send you some photos of our Springers we got from you. The male is Barney, and the Female is Tessie. These two are wonderful. Tessie is so quiet. She squeaks when she wants out, and she just is a lapdog at heart. She watches Monty our border collie, and Barney play, she grabs their toys and runs like hell. Now Barney is a big lovable giant. Trouble is his middle name. He has eaten the inside of our minivan. He has taken my new cellphone out of my handbag, and ate it down to the battery. He is so big he can reach all tabletops so will grab Eric's food from his plate, but must admit he doesn't get away with that anymore. He can open the cupboards and fridge to view whats to eat. He does what Monty does, but he is so lovable, he cuddles up when he wants lovins. We just dote on them all. Cheers Mary Axtell lapdog at heart. Hi Deanna-
I thought you'd like to see Quinn and Targhee after their first "real" grooming.
They got the full deal today and look so sweet!

Hi Deanna--

Hi Deanna,
Here`s a picture of Striker and Clyde watching a couple of deer feeding in our front yard today. The first time he saw them he barked at them, now he just sits and watches quietly.

Just wanted to pass on a very Merry Christmas wish to you and your family. We sure are enjoying our two friends that we got from you. They get along very well together and keep us laughing. They is always something that makes us laugh. They tease eachother like brother and sister. As if they say, "I have something that you want but you can't have it." Benelli is bigger than Tanna and he is only 7 months and Tanna will be 2 yrs on Jan 5th(my birthday and my daughter's)Tanna still is addicted to tennis balls and Benelli just grabs on to anything to chew on. Have to watch that character carefully.
Hi, Deanna. I thought you might like to see a few pictures of Zeke in his new home. The first picture shows Zeke with a favorite toy. The second pic is of Zeke having a good time playing in the leaves with my daughter. The last picture is Zeke getting cozy in my daughter's lap. Thanks for our puppy!

Ace had a wonderful Christmas with the boys. He is absolutely wiped out, but I think he is really loving his new home and his new family....and we are just loving him. He is sweet, gentle, energetic but not hyper, and just a really great dog to be around. He and Tie, our yellow lab, have made fast friends and are getting along great. For now, though, I will keep them separated at night
when I can't keep an eye on them.
Ace is gorgeous, too. He checked out OK at the vet last week. Thank you so much for raising such a sweet and loving guy.
We will keep in touch

Hi Deanna!
Just wanted to send you some recent pictures of Percy now called Sergeant! He's getting so big, feels like he's bigger every morning when we wake up! Turning into quite the looker with those cute little freckles.
He's doing great and will probably be trained to be a bird dog pretty soon. In fact,
just this morning he brought us a little treasure found a dead bird in the yard, yuck!
His teeth are starting to fall out and he and Deputy are becoming best of friends (even if Dep doesn't always know it). I hope all is well with you and the family! Take care!

Winston will be 6 months tomorrow and has been anticipating his party all week. We went to the park on Saturday where he made sure to stop every dog present and invite them with licks and love. "Cosmo-paw-litans," he'd tell them, "are definitely on the menu." My only hope is that he has enough energy left for his friends. Had the celebration been Sunday night when these pictures were taken, he'd definitely been labeled the party pooper. Asleep or awake, he is the greatest love to ever come into my life. I can not thank you enough for pairing me with just the right pal-of-a-lifetime. He's so strong, beautiful, energetic and cuddly at just the right moments (most of the time). We're looking forward to many more years, months and priceless hours of fun to come.
Bella
Hi Deanna,
I am so overdue sending you pictures of Fiona. She's 20 months now and 50 lbs. Looking more and more like her Mommy, Feather. She's got a big solid chest and I'm wondering if she got that from Tucker?
These pictures don't do her justice (she's gorgeous) but I just took them and wanted to send them to you. I now know why ESS make such good hunting dogs. Man! when it comes to balls and frisbees she is incredibly focused. The UPS truck (which she is very afraid of) could drive by and if she's running for the ball, she doesn't even notice the truck. We have named all her toys and when the weather is bad we play "hide the toy". She is incredible. I put her in a down/stay, take one her toys, hide it somewhere in the house, come back and release her and she finds it every time. I had no idea that ESS's were so smart!!!
Fiona still walks around the house with the fleece blanket you sent with her. And yes, she still looks like Linus. When I am leaving the family room to get ready for bed, I tell Fiona to get her blanket because it's time to go nite-nite. She gets up, grabs her blanket, follows me into our bedroom and goes right to her bed.
My favorite time is in the morning with Fiona. Before we do anything, we sit in the family room and snuggle for about 10 minutes until Dale wakes up and comes into the kitchen. Then, the "energy" starts. We have trained her to fetch the paper every morning so she knows that when Daddy comes in, it's time to get the paper. Once she gets the paper, then she and I go for a 2 mile run. And that's how we start our day, everyday.
Deanna, I could go on for hours about Fiona's sweet personality and intelligence but I won't bore you. Do know that we love her dearly and we can't imagine our house and our lives without her.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.
All the best,
Barbara
Deanna:
Finally I am sending some photos. Can't believe she is almost 11 weeks old, and we have had her for two weeks. She is still very hard mouthed but we are working on it. She loves Zoe and they have quite the time running in and along the creek that is flowing like crazy with all the rain we have had.
Zoe is so good with her. When Annie gets too bitey Zoe gives her one small growl and Annie hits the deck in submission pose. It is most interesting to watch. Zoe is delighted to have a friend to play with. They look very much alike although Zoe's eyes are the same tan color as her eyebrows. I never thought too much about it or thought it unusual until Annie arrived with her jet black eyes.
keep in touch.

Before and after pictures or maybe after and before. Puppy (Paxton) had alot of fun but had to have 2 baths to repair the damage. The family stills gets a big laugh at this episode.
I had to tell you what Marvel just did, she is totally brilliant. I was working at my desk and I heard her talking in a quiet but persistent voice by a door she never uses to go out. It was not her "take me out" voice or her "Oh no what is that?" bark or her "Feed me now" or her "let's play ball please.' And yes, she has different phrasing and voices that make the differences between those clear. This was quiet and for a few minutes I tuned it out.
Finally I could tell it was truly something she needed to tell me. I went to the door and there was a package that had been delivered without us hearing outside. The truck was long gone, and it was not her alarm bark at all. When I praised her for letting me know she grinned super big and was all done talking. I think she may be ready for her own TV series.
LOL LOL her intelligence is so fun.
Take care,
Pat
